When I first moved to SC I had several people (white & black) tell me I wasn't black, or ask if I was mixed. The worst was when white boys would tell me they were blacker than me. Naturally, I had no clue what the fuck they were talkin about. When Reggie was younger some bigot called him "blackie". He didn't even get offended cuz he didn't know what it meant. Events like these cause me to wonder what black really is. Is it a color? The way you talk? How you live? Or is it more than that?
